Gary Carter 1954-2012
You were the class act of class acts. One of the greatest and grittiest ever. You will be greatly missed. God Bless You. He died Feb. 16 after battling cancer for nearly a year. Carter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor last May. An 11-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner, Carter's single in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series started the Mets improbable come-from-behind win. He was 57. I had the opportunity to meet Gary Carter at Yankee Stadium once during a World Series game in 2003. We kept up his image of a class act. He was great to chat with and even signed a ball for me that reads "To Brad - All My Best - God Bless You - Gary Carter" It is a ball I always cherished and will so even more now. Rest in Peace.....
